tail wheel.
I have a 60 size super chipmunk and I missed getting to the hobby shop and hardley no hard wood. will a circular control horn work as a tail wheel or no, any other suggestions for an improvising.

Hi Dave,
As a short term measure? Is this just to get you in the air over the weekend?
If so you colud give it a go, just try to land on the main gear, ie slightly faster that normal, so you don't put any landing impact on the tail err wheel.
You could simply use a wire bent backwards, like the old WW1 biplanes, for a quick fix.

i fly off light grass and my wire tail skid (extra control rod) works great, it doesn't steer at low speeds, but niehter woudl a tailwheel in the grass
