Default Futaba receiver

I just picked up a new plane ... it came with a Futaba Rx. I allready have a Futaba Tx. My Tx is channel 15. The receiver is a channel 36. Can I just put a new crystal in it? I know futaba has a high band and a low band, but is that just the Tx??

No Keven, the high/low bit is for receivers only, not transmitters. Also, all Futaba receivers are not limited to the high/low bit. Check your manual to see if yours is.

In addition to being on the same channel, the receiver and transmitter need to use the same modulation, IE FM or AM. FM is what you are most likely to see today. Then, the receiver and transmitter both need to be in the same mode, IE PPM or PCM. You can't mix the two. Some transmitters can be switched between PCM and PPM, some can't.

What model is your receiver and your transmitter?

Also note that YOU can not change crystals in your TX. It must be done by a proper shop. You could change freq modules if your radio is so equipped.

What model of RX do you have?
