The usual way a taildragger is set up is to set the main axles even with the leading edge of the wing. You might have to glue in an extra plate or two to accomodate the screws. My Big Stik 40 had a bulkhead that straddled where the gear screwed into the bottom of the plane. Also, you might want to invest in some aluminum or composite gear if you want to do it right. The music wire mains on mine were kinda flimsy. The tail wheel can be set up a number of ways, the simplest being a tiller arm that goes into the rudder. One system I like on homemade tailwheels is to put a long hooked arm under the rudder, and hook a rubber band to the trailing edge of the rudder. This gives the tailwheel some flex and you don't mess up your rudder servo when you get ham-handed putting your bird in your vehicle! Hope this helps!
