Default Hobby-lobby YAK-55 3d profile???

I know this is not a plane for a bigginer, But it apeals to me because of the look, price and its smaller size. I practice on a sim all the time,l I have masterd snap rolls, elevators, hover, knife edge. I know the sim will not prepare me for every thing, but i cane learn the basics. In the sim i was flying trainers and i got really good really fast, but i also got boared, too. I like it also because if i break it I buy a new one for $20. Feel free to say your opinions.

Hi John,

Flying a plane on simulator is much more different than flying a real plane, this is my experience which is ofcourse short but you have to have an instructor with you no matter which plane you fly, but it is always advised to fly high wing trainer which is more stable and during dead stick it glides very well and can be landed with ease. Point is not 20 bucks point is why wasted 20 bucks if you break it? if you really spend $20 then try to retain it by getting training and not having it crashed right? I wish you all the best and Im sure there would be a club around your area where you can have any senior flyer or any instructor to help you.

There are just not many trainers with a 35 inch or less wing-span. I just dont have the room are time to go to a flight feild. At the race track where I race my dirt gike there is a flight feild. I found an instructor and he took me to a sim they had. He watched me fly and said i could fly almost any plane i wanted, with some practice. I just need some thing small, cheap(hobby grade) to fly in a small park(100ft by 100ft).

If you could fly a real plane like you did on the sim than you would be ready for almost any plane. But you cant fly a real plane like that. There is so much more to flying the real thing. If you really don't have any time start the painful process of learning to fly yourself and learning bad habits. But don't start on a flat aerobatic 3d foamy. However joining a club will definitely save MANY planes and Hundreds of dollars. A trainer will really prepare yourself to fly larger planes, not just foamies. Also foamies really fly so different than a glow trainer or anything else. Even for a pilot used to flying 40 size birds he will have to learn new things when switching to a flat foamy with no airfoil. PS the word "field" is not spelled feild.

OK, I want an electric plane with a 40 inch or less wing span. It has to be small light and cheap($450 and below and STILL HOBBY GRADE).

And who cares how I spell things.

I could fly it in a small park. But as a beginner you will want more space untill you get used to it.

Actually many people care how you spell things. First off it can get down right annoying. Based on the way you posted your question and replied, I decided to look at your other posts. You posted a reply to the kids on rcuniverse. Remember the first two pages were bashing the kid's spelling/grammar and what impression it sends. The way you write and how reasonable your thoughts are communicates your level of maturity and understanding of the topic. Back to your park flier now. If you really wont have an instructor why not start with a simpler plane like the aerobird or other smaller electrics. They are less expensive and may be easier to fly. I'm not an expert on electric trainers but I think even if you have considerable sim experience you should grow slowly and not push the limits. For you it sounds like an expensive crash could be quite a set back.

It won;t be a big set back it's just i have to buy parts for my dirt bike.Lets say if my 250f sezies up the motor in a race I have to fix that($1500). If I buy an exspensive plane, and crash it i may not get it fixed because of the cost. Thats why I want this plane.

My point is that it is probebley to alittle to advanced and you will end up crashing a lot while learning to fly. Thats why a believe that a trainer and an instructor are the best. They save you planes and after your trainer you can take the electric, 3d or scale route with relative ease.

Plus replacement motor shafts (they bend and these fomies land on there nose a lot), and replacement servos (the little servos on these things are weak and strip out on hard crashes).

not to mention you will never learn to fly properly. Also fixing planes or replacing it after ever trip to the park is annoying. And those servos do strip easily.

The park is a block away from my house, I'm sticking to my choice. It's cheap, I wont feel so bad if i crash a $20 plane apposed to a $50-$100 plane. Also the planes that Mr67stang posted uses the same servo as the fomie.

Every thing crashes with wheels or a motor, I just can't have any thing with a wing span over 32inches.

And yes when I do get it I will take a vid and post it.
