Default Transporting a Nexstar

When I go to the field, I usually fit the plane in my car the best way I can. However, there is a long weekend coming up and I'm gonna go and catch some sun in a place that is about 3 hours away. I want to take my NexStar because there is a field there but I don't know how to transport the plane safely. I don't have a trailer or anything similar, Ill have to deal with taking it in the car. Some have suggested to make a custom box and tie it snuggly to the top of the car. I dont really know what to do. Are there any ideas? The road is very irregular with lots of curves so it has to be really firm to survive the trip.

Default RE: Transporting a Nexstar

when I had a pick up I made a pvc pipe frame to tie my planes into
When gas got stupid I got a small Hyundai, now I lay down 1/2 the back seat, there is a ring built in that I pass velcro through and tie the gear in with that
The wings, I cut 2 pieces of wood (2x2) one goes in the back of the car at the lip of the rear side windows, the other i place behind my seat at the fwd lip of the back seat windows. I lay my wings on that.
