Hi im completley new to rc plane's ive had a few flights now and am curious about the flap switch on my radio. Please can someone explain to me what they do and how to set it up if i need to. Please dont laugh i know it probably a stupid question but i enjoy my new hobby and want to learn everything i can about it. Thanx

On the VG 600 that flap switch is a three position switch (Don,t remember ch five or six) that actuates independant flaps to three positions (usually up, half and full down). The airplane must have dedicated flaps not flaperons and they could be actuated by one or two servos on a Y cord. This Tx will not support flaperons.
Since this is the beginers forum, flaps or flaperons on the majority of trainers is redundant and even likely to lengthen the learning curve pointlessly.
Both channel five or six could also be used for other things like retract gear or bomb release whatever.
