Default Training gear off

Yesterday my instructor showed me how hard it is to fly my Mustang pts with the training stuff (wing droops and manualflaps down) in 10 to 15 mph wind. Talk about a handfull. I'm going to replace the 3 blade prop with a 10x6 two blade prop and spinner. i also will install the flap servo and take the wing droops off. I know the speed will increase but how much harder willthis plane be on taking off and landing. I have 15 flights on it the way it was set up and changing it kinda scares me ( can't believe at 53 I'm a little scared). All the guys at my club say this is the way I need to go. It was kinda fun doing loops and barrel-rolls in this wind.
Will setting this plane up the way I described it going too far or should I do the upgrades one at a time. I'm planning on getting a alpha 60 trainer as my next trainer or something along that line. I really am hooked on flying something. Thanks to everyone here who has helped me the past couple of months.

If you have been doing well with the P-51 then you should handle the transition OK. The same goes for the Alpha, seems like moving backward though. I'd suggest a Stik or something more sporty like a 4* or Goldberg Tiger 2 in whatever size you like. Both are good "wind" flyers too but also good in low winds.

Sig Somethin' Extra or Hangar 9 Pulse XT could be good choices too.
