Default Towerkote too heavy & cable pushrods????

Hi again:
#1) Is Towerkote too heavy to use on a Pitts Special 1/2A scale? Please tell me it isn't as I have 16 rolls laying around and I do not have the money to get any new lighter covering.
#2) Can I use cable pushrods for this plane instead of nylon?

Thank you

1 - I have many small planes covered in similiar materials including ChinaKote.

All fly just fine.

2 - Why not? As long as you can run the rods out w/o binding then you'll be fine.
