What's the easiest way to tell/know what size of spinner I need to get for a certain size of propeller? I am replacing the 3-bladed prop that came with my Hanger 9 Arrow, and wish to replace it with a 2-blade 11x6 APC prop. However, do I get a 2" spinner, 2.25" spinner, 2.5" spinner, etc.?

jolson88, fit the spinner that looks best on your model, Marry it up with the size of the fuslage, if the fuse is 2" wide, then fit a 2" spinner. Just remember this measurement is taken at the very nose of the aircraft. All the best with your flying

G'day Jason,
The plane determines the spinner size, not the prop.
Hold a measuring stick, (Ruler) at the pointy end of the plane, & see if 2" or 2.5" or 3" or 6" looks the best, & buy one of them.
I think about 2.5" would be just right.

The above answers are correct, but I'll just add this:
One some aircraft, a specific size spinner is required. On others, it's flexible and just depends on looks. (See picture)
In either case, you often need to open the slots in the spinner to fit the prop - this is normal.

I've read that the best diameter aerodynamically is for the spinner to be 1/5 of the prop diameter, i.e. 2 in for a 10 in prop. So use the size spinner @ that dimension which looks best on your airplane.

I would get the same size as your plane came with. I have the Alpha 60, and if i remember correctly it came with a 2in. spinner, so i went with a 2in. 2 balde spinner.

Hey Jolson
I got a 11x6 APC for my OS .46AX. The prop would not fit on a Dubro 2.25" with out massive amounts of trimming. Believe me i tried. I used a 2.5" and still had to do a little trimming as stated in my beginners logbook. You could use a 2.75 and probably not have to trim it. I am looking at now getting a balancer to rebalance it as i'm sure it is way off. Also i have to rebalance my props as i've now nicked both. Working on updating the log very soon.
