I am thinking of painting the designs on my plane over coverite fabric. Is this ok?

People used to do that all the time. If it is a power plane you may want to clear coat all of it before you fly it too or it will oil soak over time.

I've painted over it without any clear coat and the paint held real well. Nice thing about the paint is it seals down the edges of the covering.
