Landing

RE: Landing
Back when I was flying a full scale Pitts regularly the idea was to fly it basically level down close to the runway for proper alignment. Then as speed bled off the nose was lifted until the perfect (hopefully) 3-point attitude was reached. At this point the plane was held in that attitude just inches off the ground until the plane lost flying speed and it would just settle the last couple of inches. At this point it couldn't possibly bounce back into the air - no speed/no lift. Light braking to a stop with full up elevator. Runway alignment was maintained by keeping equal amounts of pavement on each side of the plane viewing out the side, no forward visibility. On a narrow runway you were actually in trouble if you DID see pavement.
