If I have a Hitec 6S mini receiver single conversion(?) and I put a #27 crystal in it, will it work with my Tower 6XM radio (freq is 27) I'm clueless[]

The Tower TX is made by Futaba so it operates like one. The Hitec 6S is compatible with Futaba TX's. Now, as long as you used a correct Hitec single conversion crystal (or equivelent) you should be fine. A dual conversion crystal will NOT work.

The Hitec 6s is an auto shift receiver and will work with any 72 Mhz FM transmitter as long as you have the hitec single conversion crystal in the right channel. Other brands of crystals may not work. I always buy the same brand crystal as the receiver I am putting it in.
