Default Econo Build Table.

I have been building off my bar top using sheet rock or a ceiling tile to work off of. I`ve been in the hobby about 9 months and have been thinking of building a cheap worktable .
My wife works in the housing trades, and I picked up a couple of cabinets that had some light damage for free . Then I found a Oak slab 30 x80 for the top . it`s much stronger than a hollow core door. Got it at Menards for $1.00
I just started screwing the cabinets together and a will build a hardwood frame for the top to set on , as the cabinets are not the same height. Found a bunch of maple in the dumpster at a job site. So far I have $1.00 invested and will post pic`s of my progress .

Looks good man! That is my kind of shopping. One man junk is another mans treasure, or so I hear. Quite the impressive fleet you got there too.

Thanks guys. There is actaully 6 planes hanging in my Den too. LOL Not bad for a Newbie
I was at MinnFlyers a while back and he has a nice build table. Really like the way he had it so you could work from all sides and walk around it . I`m going to do him one better and add a beer holder to mine.

My work bench is so covered with stuff right now that I could dig for a week and still not see the surface. I gotta do something about that. But, priority IS a beer holder, that's for sure..

Now, where did I put that 2-56 nut and lock washer?

That is going to be a great workbench. For a guy who entered this hobby 9 months ago (the same time as myself), you have amassed a respectable collection of planes.

I just build on free 2x4 celing tiles that I get from demolition projects at work, and I am constantly moving things out of my way.

Got the wifes Honey do list done, so I got a little time to get back to work on the Table. So far so good.
Made the frame for the Top to set on. Fitted the top. Came out nice and level.
