Default dx7 heli or plane model?

hi guys!im going to be buying a dx7 soon,the local hobby shop says if i ever have any intention on buying a heli then i should go with the heli version.he says the only difference is the heli model has a smoother throttle,is there anything else that is different?

Switches are slightly different but yes, if you plan to fly helis at any time get the heli version.

Switch placement is fine for flying planes/gliders but the airplane switch placement is awkward for helicopter flying.

And the smooth throttle stick on the heli version is soooo much nicer than the racheted throttle stick in the airplane version, but then I'm biassed, since I started with helis before trying planes. I converted all of my radios and RealFlight controllers to a smooth throttle stick.
