Default Which Fuel Tank?

Hi Everyone,
I've been reconditioning a plane I bought from an auction. It has a Super Tiger 61. It also came with a 12 oz. tank but it fits in there very tight and I'm worried about the fuel foaming from what I read in other threads. I do have an 8 oz. tank on hand but will it be too small?

You could wrap your 8 oz. in foam and use it!

Get a smaller tank and wrap it in foam!

If you can get a 10oz tank, that would probably be perfect. My ASP .40 gives me 20 minute flight times (65%-85% throttle) with an 8oz tank. Your Super Tiger .61 will consume fuel a bit faster.

Also, is the current tank round or square? Different shape and different manufacturer will change the dimensions. You may be able to use a 12oz tank, but it should have sufficiant clearance to pad it properly with foam. I recommend having at least 1/8 inch (preferably more) of padding on all sides.

I wouldn't use an 8oz tank on a 61, you'll suck that puppy dry too soon. Go with at least a 10 oz

Thanks,
Maybe I'll stick that 12 oz back in there. It has about 1/8 thick foam on either side but it's in there kind of tight. I'll see if I can do a little "trimming".
