hi all. i got my first plane and installed everything. worked ok. not flown yet but servos and engine were fine. when i switched it on yesterday to adjust the servos all the servos went mad. just stuttering and not responding. ive changed and charged the batteries and no luck. im using a futaba 6ex transmitter and receiver.


Any Ideas?

are you turning the tx on or just the receiver pack?

just had another thought,is your tx on correct model memory.is it in pcm mode when it should be in ppm,or vice versa?

ASSUMING everything is correct...sounds like you maybe over driving the reciever..in other words the transmitter is too close to the plane. walk across the room with the antenna down. or take the airplane outside and walk a few feet away.

if it's the fm 6ex then it sounds like your not turning your transmitter on first, when you turn the receiver on and not the transmitter the receiver has no signal to obay, ALWAYS turn on your transmitter first

my plane does that when the TX isnt on but the reciever is, make sure your transmitter is ON FIRST, OFF LAST and if you can get the reciever to respond by turning the TX on before the RX do a full range check before flying (may not be nescessary, but good practice)

" just stuttering and not responding." kinda tells me that he must have the TX on or why would he be expecting a response. Let's not treat him like he's stupid.

I agree that he MAY be using the wrong modulation type or be too close though. Having the TX about 4 feet away should be more than adequate and double check both RX and TX are in PCM or PPM mode.
Also make sure RX antenna is fully extended and mounted well.

If the stuttering is a pulsing in time then your transmitter is in pcm mode and you have to change the parameters to ppm or fm is the other way of describing the mode

Most home WiFi systems will cause the standard PPM 72 band RX's to go nuts even at times when the TX is turned on... and particularly if the antenna on the TX is not fully extended.
