I believe its the same as water. Approx. 8 lbs. per gallon. 1 Gal = 32 oz.// 8oz.= 2 lbs....sounds heavy though.

One gallon is 128 oz. not 32, so it is about 1/2 lb for 8 oz.

8 fl oz of water weighs 8 oz. The specific gravity of water is 1. A gallon of water weighs 8 lbs. A gallon of gasoline weighs 6 lbs. Gasoline is lighter than water. Oil is lighter than water. I can't tell you the specific gravity if glow fuel, but it is less than water; 8 fl oz of glow fuel weighs less than 8 oz weight.

For what it's worth, a DuBro 8oz tank with a full load of fuel and a four inch piece of tubing coupling the vent to the supply so it didn't spill on my scales weighs 8.54 oz. The same tank empty weighs 2.29 oz. So the tank holds 6.25 oz of fuel by weight. There is a air gap as shown in the photo, you really can't get you tank completly full of fuel.

Turn the photo on it's side.

A gallon of model airplane fuel only weighs around 100 oz.

I weighed a 16 oz Dubro tank and it held around 11 3/4 oz of fuel.

Weigh a glass measuring cup. Pour a specific amount of fuel into the cup and weigh that. Subtract one from the other and you have it.

Yepper. Volume is measured in a water based cubic equivalent (cu in, cc, etc.) The fluid oz size of the tank is based on fluid ounces of distilled water. (Except in Canada where they use the "Royal Gallon" and that's based on the queen's urine or some odd uint of measure). Things that float on water (alcohol, ducks, witches, etc.) will WEIGH less than pure water for an equivalent volume.
