Dad gum farmers plant high corn right up to our runways at four of the local R/C fields.
So I use the Walston Retrieval Systems set up which includes a mini transmitter in your plane and a direction finder receiver that i keep in the truck.
This garantees that i will never have my plane land out in the corn. I've had the Walston for 3 yrs and have not had a reason to go into the corn jungle.

You need a voltage regulator (I get mine from Don's RC in KS, he is in the AMA ) Great bunch of people and very helful. I used these on my large war birds. The beeping does not start unless the Trottle is idle for ONE minute... but the system has three types of alarms.. Im glad I use them.

There was a write up on a plane finder here in RSU, it looked like it would work ok Ijust wish I could find the write up i was wanting to get a few of them.

Some guys are using these. $29.95 and you can switch it from plane to plane, and it uses it's own power. Most others are dependent on the RX batt.
