Default In-Line Fuel Filter Install Help

I purchased a Dubro in-line fuel filter with plug (p/n2305). I'm not sure I understand what the black piece is that I assume is the plug. Can you please enlighten me. I don't like fueling through the muffler line so I remove the line from the remote needle valve and with this application it's just to hard to remove and replace the line after fueling. So I was installing the filter so I could remove the line from the filter and make it a little easier to refuel. Thanks for your help.
Thanks

The modeler can utilize this item with the DU-BRO In-Line Fuel Filters. Simply install the plug between the two halves of the filter and re-thread the filter back together. Now your fuel will flow as usual, but when transporting, you have an easy to use fuel plug right where you need it.

I must be stupid. I'm not sure I understand its purpose. It has no holes in the line. I'm confused[&o]

I had a problem with it too

Until I saw one and decided that you unplug the line from the tank and put it over the plug for storage or transport?

I always pump mine out empty for storage or transport

if you already have the filter, then cut the fuel line where it looks good to you. the just install the filter where you cut the line

Wouldn't you actually disconnect the line at the needle or carb and then attach to "gadget" for transport??

If the fuel filter is in the line between the tank and the needle valve as it usually is, just to unplug the tank line off the filter and put it on the plug will suffice
