I dont think the wind is ever going to stop blowing !!
Oh well, it gave me time to convert my LT 40 to a tail drager, now if the wind will stop I'll try it out..

Weve got one guy that flys in anything. His theory is that once the plane is in the air, it doesn't know the wind is blowing. Ofcourse he had a long hike one day to retrieve a fommy that didn't have enough power to get back to the field, not low battery, but it just couldn't make any headway into the wind. When he comes out to fly, he will fly. He always brings a minimum of five planes, a mix of fommy and 90 and 130 size3D's He isn't the best pilot at the field, but the most presestant one.

Wind wasn't too bad Saturday - stayed around 20 mph gusting to just over 25 until noon. Got some good flying in. Winds came up over 30 - 35 and gusting higher just after noon and kept that up all day Sunday.
Ken - please keep the over 25 mph stuff down there in OK.

We had the winds yesterday, but out to the field this morning and we had gust of up to 5mph, When I left at around 11:30, it was almost dead calm. What we did have though is haze, and the brown kind. We are way north of the fires in LA and San Deigo countys, but the smoke influence is up here also. I feel for thouse people. This has the makings of one of the worst if not the worse fire storm we've seen out here. We keep our fingers crossed as we have the huge natoinal forest areas just east of us and it could well be us the next time.

Sorry to here about all the wind. Here in Pa we had about 3 weeks of less than 5mph wind. I don't have a plane but am looking to build one for next spring. I flew about 10 different model rockets and only lost one. Dead calm. They go up from 1000 to 2500 feet for my 3 stage. All scratch built. I'll hope for calm wind for you all. Good Luck!

When I was learning to fly some of the guys that helped me told me that if I wanted to fly living in Oklahoma i would need to learn to fly in the wind. They were right now i will fly in almost any wind. Have had my Nextar motionless at full throttle 30 feet off the field in a gust. That was a little extreme and landing a trainer at 3/4 throttle was a real challenge. And I had witnesses. I'm the nutcase at my field that likes wind. I have had planes that wouldn't land without some headwind.

Was at the WinStar Casino this weekend. In OKL. and the wind was howling thought I would be able to do some flying once home. Our field is towards where Gary L is. The wind either was comming from here or followed us but has not let up since. This morn. wind over 25mph and gusting. Temp is in the upper 40's. So Ken and Gary been at least close to where you guys are. Granbury Tx. is only a few mi. from Weatherford. Don't know how far WinStar is from Lawton but it is the same state lol.

Hey Kid, where is your feild? We just lost ours and lookin for some place to fly. We go to Thunderbirds ( in Benbrook ) ever now and then, I'm workin on get'in us at the County farm ( I work for Parker Co. Pct. 4 ) but not sure if there is going to be enough room.
You'll have to get with me some Sunday morning ( that's about the only time I have ) and we'll go fly.
