In the subject really, a guy wants to buy my plane and wants to know if his Jr tranmitter will work with the futaba rx in the plane. It's PPM 35 mhz.

Thanks

My understanding is that it will not, but I'll be pleased to hear otherwise.

I'd also like to know if Futaba servos/extensions will work with Hitec receivers.

As far as I know a JR TX will not work with a Futaba RX but Futaba servos/ extensions will work with a Hitec RX.

Folks in North America generally aren't qualified to answer this question. We get no experience with 35Mhz radio systems. I'd ignore any answers from casual U.S. or Canadian posters unless they specifically discuss 35Mhz radio systems.

As long as both were made for Eurpoean consumption they will work fine. In Europe JR and Futaba use the same shift pattern.

Go on the Radio Manufacturers' forum for Futuba and ask this question. The moderator should give you an answer.

As far as I know ... Futaba servos/ extensions will work with a Hitec RX.
But what about all the stuff with "Futaba plugs" and "JR plugs" and "Hitec plugs" for servo extensions and the such?

As long as the cables match.. + voltage supply and - voltage supply to the appropriate power leads, and the colored signal wire goes to the appropriate signal wire match up on the extension, or in that slot on the receiver, it will work. Note that some servo leads have the + lead in the center while others have it on the outside. Just note that so you don't get them reversed, and it should be just fine. You can reverse them if you wish so that the +'s and the -'s match. (I use those symbols because some may be colored differently, for instance, brown or black will indicate a - polarity, where yellow or blue may indicate signal wire).

I believe Minnflyer or RC Ken has posted a picture denoting the leads and the colors for various types of servo's somewhere here on RCU.

Not sure about he 35mega hurts lol. but I used Jr reciever with my Futaba had to revers the polarity inside reciver but that is not hard to do. You just move it to make it a positive reciver instead of negative. Jr 6000 but like i said don't know about 35 mine was 72 Now it is Spektrum DX7. Man the recievers are high lol.
Edited to put polarity in had it worded even i didn't understand lol.

The word you were looking for is "shift". Some JR RX's are shift selectable. In Europe they are all on the same shift and the orig poster is in Europe. If his radios were built for Europe and NOT North American units carried over there he will be fine. To be honest, I don't know if "shift" is even involved in the 35 MHz band but it is in 72 MHz.

You have to have shift for PPM to work

But yes, in Europe they are all positive shift.

Just to conclude guys, I went to the field last weekend and the JR Transmitter worked perfectly with the Futaba receiver and servos. The only thing that we needed to do was to reverse the channels in the transmitter.

Plane sold...

Edit to say thank you for eveyones help.

Reversing servos is common even within the same brand. Good deal.
