Default Choice of 3 planes to train with...HELP!

I'm just beginning in the GLOW planes hobby (had an electric many years ago)...I have a durastick ready to go, but need some advice. I have an opportunity to trade for a CG Eagle II or a 4* 40. I wonder which would be the better investment. I have not flown yet with a glow so am considering the eagle as a trainer, however, I don't want to fly a plane for a month and be done with it either and have read by some that the fourstar makes a great trainer and one that you won't tire of. Should I start with the Durastick, 4*, or Eagle? BTW, the eagle comes with an OS 46 FX, the Durastick a OS 46 LA, and the fourstar comes with an OS 40 (Not sure if LA or FX just yet) or I can fly it with the 46 LA. HELP!

Keep the Durastik, get the Eagle.........you won't get tired of a trainer in a month....you should see what a couple experienced guys at our field do with trainer......one happens to be an Eagle 2....increase the throws, move the CG back a bit, and have fun!

The firewall/engine mount will fit perfectly in a Spad Debonair, and the landing gear will also work perfectly. Learn on the Debby, and then put the stuff back in the Durastick and tear up the sky!!!

I have owned an eagle 2 for close to 4 years. I got back into the hobby last fall and I've put probably 50 flights on it and I still have fun with it! I've moved on now, but if the wing is built somewhat flat it can be a fun plane. The guys at the field go on and on about how well it flys for a trainer.

Default The Debby

Tatt...I have seriously thought about the debby, but I have built NOTHING before! Also, I downloaded the debby to the FMS and it seems on there to dip the nose quite a bit, so that I have to consistently pull up on the elevator...I didn't know if this is true of the real thing or not...Though I really like the idea of a $20 plane!
Also, I like the idea of the 4* if I can learn on it because I guess I look at it like skipping the middle man...of course if it ends up in toothpicks then it's a larger drawback than the trainer would ever be! What do you think, should I chance it with a 4* or play it safe with the eagle 2

By all means make your trade for one of these planes but for learning Go with the SPAD Deb or BUHOR, the Deb is also available in ARF type form if you dont want to build.

Being in Memphis there are plenty of SPADers around to give you a hand

Keep the durastick for later.

The Eagle is DEFINITELY the best starter of the three.

I would advise not going with the DEB. Because if you do, you could come down with a nasty case of SPADitis. There is no cure. And the symptoms will haunt you the rest of your living days.

GO with the DEB.

Good luck with your eagle. When you decide to make that BUHOR. Come by www.spadworld.net and visit and ask questions. Tons of help, lots of fun. Heck, even if you don't decide stop by and drop a line or two.
