Default Pushrod connectors

How do you fasten the metal washer on the GP screw-lock connectors if you have to install it on the plane. Is there a tool that will help lock that washer on?

Remove the servo arm, put the EZ Connector through the servo arm, Place the snap ring on the back, place it on a piece of wood, and tap the EZ Connector with a small hammer and it will pop right in

I have used pliers on them but one has to be careful. The spring washer will want to rock sideways.

Ok thanks. I have used the x-acto knife handle--it has an opening large enough to clear the pin but small enough to hold the washer. I have problems trying to get them on (for ex. throttle control arm without having to dis-assemble it from the carburator.

This is the norm. You have to get a clear shot at the back side. I have to take the arms off in most cases.

I normally just use these on the throttle servo arm. But I do have some planes that others initially put together that have them all over.

I think you could modify existing pliers by just drilling a hole in the jaw?

That might work if we could just get it magentized so that it would stay on the pliers while trying to install that stupid little clip.

I don't consider that type of connector safe enough so I don't use it. At the servo I bend the wire into a Z.

On the 40 size and larger planes you should use the heavy duty variety of these connectors and make sure they are tight.

As some have mentioned
I take a scrap 2x4 drill a hole small enough so only the pin fit's
place the locking washer on the hole, tap the P.R.C on the washer
work like a charm.

You say they are not secure enough.... ever try to remove said locking washer[:@][>:]

I was hoping there would be some way to put the retainer on without having to remove either the horn or the control arm. Try to balance that retainer while putting it on a throttle level.

I snap on the nylon retainer and add a dab of Canopy Cement to the backside... It won't come off ! Beats fighting the metal retainer ![>:]
