Default Glue and Prop questions

So I had some glue in a Tower Hobbies order I got delivered today. Some Alphetic Resin. When I placed the order, I didn't realize that it'd be below freezing here the last few days. Suffice it to say, after sitting in the back of a UPS truck all day, the glue was very cold. It wasn't frozen solid, but it was REALLY thick and was definately not in the state it would be in at room temperature. So, now I'm wondering, is the glue no good now that it's been below 32 degrees for most of a day? The label says not to let it get below that. I notice there's some discoleration on the inside of the bottle now, almost looks like it was sitting on it's side and the top near the air pocket evaporated and left a residue behind on the bottle. Any suggestions here?

Also, is Alphetic Resin basically just wood glue? Looks like it and smells like it to me. If that's the case, I've got plenty just sitting around the house!

Second question: props. I was playing around with an engine earlier trying to test fit the prop and spinner I bought for it. Well, the engine shaft is bigger than the hole in the prop! Is there a good way to go about enlarging the hole without access to a drill press? I have a power hand drill, but I am afraid that I'll drill the hole crooked which I assume would throw the whole prop out of balance and be very bad. I'd prefer not to have to buy a drill press, but I can't think of another easy way to get a straight up and down hole with the tools/materials I have.

Thanks in advance for any assistance

Put it in your micro-wave for 15-30 seconds. If that doesn't work call Tower in the morning and tell them you want more. Don't use a drill on the prop. They sell metric and SAE prop reamers that have steps in them to enlarge the holes to the right size. You use them by hand. Reamers follow the existing hole in the prop so the hole will be nice and perpendicular to the face of the prop if you're careful.

The glue is probably thawed out by now, I just wasn't sure if being partially frozen, or at least really cold, would somehow cause any adverse chemical reaction that would reduce the strength or durability of the glue.

There are certain foams and chemicals that are adversely affected by low temperatures. This one should not be. If it stays hard when it thaws out toss it into the micro-wave for 15-30 seconds. Also follow that link and get yourself a prop reamer.

Cool, thanks. Added a reamer to my wishlist. Gonna be buying a radio on monday, I'll toss it into the order with that.

I'll give the microwave a shot if the glue doesn't look like it's returned to a natural state by tomorrow morning. I guess I could also test it on some scrap balsa just to be sure it's ok.

The glue should be fine, and yes, it's just plain ol' wood glue.

Gonna pick up a Futaba 6EX. Thought about going with the new 7 channel, but I don't think that'd be something I would need for quite a while, so 6c should be fine for me considering I've not even flown once yet (waiting till spring, spending the winter on some building).

Thanks for the info Minn, I've got a ton of plain wood glue hanging around, so I'll just use that and not worry about the frozen stuff
