From: Singapore,
Just bought a Marutaka F4U Corsair .20 kit. The original design does not come with flaps and I'm thinking of modifying it to add in the flaps to make it looks more like scale. The 3-piece-a-side flaps will be control by a micro servo on each wing. Just wonder have anyone ever did it before on a .20 corsair. Also, how much degree of right thrust should I add it if I intend to use a OS .25 engine? There is no clear instructions on this.

Generally flaps on that size airplane are quite impratical being a rather complex project particularly since you want scale sectionalized flaps that comes with all sorts of problems only one of which is more weight which increases the wing loading and attendant handeling problems.
In scale warbird combat events which are aircraft of that size, flaps are virtually never used and for that matter as well as no retracts. Come to think of it, No landing gear at all.
Right thrust is commonly not used in that type airplane. One thing that does concern me is the fact you posted this in the beginners forum and if in fact you are a beginner, That airplane is not very appropriate and will only delay any success you have in the sport.

Hi JohnBucker,
Thank for your advise. I'm not really a beginner in R/C. Perhaps I did posted my questions on the wrong forum. Sorry.
Hi 13yroldpilot,
The kit that I bought looks old on the box, so I guess it may be a discountined model. I tried searching for Marutaka homepage but don't seem able to find it.
