Default witch is a better second plane?

Ok. I'm looking at either building my goldberg tiger 60 that I have or getting a slowpoke sport 40 kit and building it...Just wondering witch one would make a better second plane? I like the looks of the slowpoke and I already have a engine that will fit it..

Not either one of your choices but I have a Dolphin as my second plane and I love it. I think it flies better than my trainer.

I would probably say the Tiger is the better second plane. Other choices would be the Sig 4-Star, GP Rapture-40, World Models Sky Raider Mach-2. There are probably more but these just come to mind right now.

I haven't flown the Slowpoke personally. It does have a huge, flat bottom wing though. I'm sure some other people have opinions on it.

The Tiger 60 is an excellent second plane.
I have never seen a Slowpoke fly but have heard that they can be a handfull, don't know if that is true or not.

How can you already have a Tiger 60 sitting in a box and home and still be asking the question? Get building man! The Slow Poke Sport is a nice flying plane, too, but you could have had your horizontal stabilizer for your Tiger 60 built in the time it took you to post this thread!

I've flown both. Build and fly the Tiger 60 first. The Slowpoke is a neat little plane and it's not hard to fly, but the Tiger is easier.

If you have the Tiger 60 , go ahead and build it .. You`ll learn alot from it and may decide to move on to something a little more demanding than a SlowPoke.

I`m building a SlowPoke right now and have the wing done .Was looking for a fun sport plane and really like the way the SlowPoke looks. And I have seen it refered to as a low wing trainer, but have`nt flown one , yet , so I can not comment on how it flys. But if you like to build , this is a fairly easy kit and it a pretty good buy for the money.

If it was me , I`d build both .lol

My second plane was the Tiger 60 with an OS 61 SF. It flew just great. Very forgiving. I did my first couple of flights with it on the buddy box because it was different from my Nexstar trainer, but quickly weined away from that and flew it on my own. It's a tough bird, I can tell you that.. after the abuse I gave it.. it's still around.

I eventually swapped the OS 61 for a Super Tigre 75 and a tuned pipe. Wow.. from a great performer to an outstanding performer. It's very capable and versitile.

You have my vote, for sure!! Go Tiger!!

But, as Moondoggie said.. if you can deal with it, build both!!! That way you won't have to make a decision..

Well, you beat me, Tiger. They are very good airplanes. And quite nearly a perfect fit between the high wing trainer and a sport ship.

I have had a Seagull Space Walker 2 as I my second plane. My boy enjoys it just as much.

On the Spacewalker II, while it's an excellent flyer that runup yaw is going to be a lot for a novice to handle.

You can mix it out, but this typically is beyond the "second plane" pilot.

I'd vote for the Tiger or the Pulse XT.

Pulse XT 40....After much discussion with many of the gents above, I went with the Pulse XT 40 with an OS 70 Surpass II 4 stroke....

Love it.

A great combination.
