I'm thinking about putting the electronics and engine from my trainer Nexstar (RIP) into a Pulse XT. It's got Futaba standard servos and an OS 46 and my only worry is using an AR6200 reciever in it. Can this be done with no problems? I've heard all you have to do is shave down the connections on the servos, is that correct? If this is the case what kind of extensions should I use?
This will be my forth plane. I'm finishing my second trainer and I've got a Twist 150 I'm afraid to fly much. What do you guys think? I've got hobbyshop gift certificates from Christmas burning a hole in my pocket.
Pulse XT good choice?
Thanks.

I just look up the specs on the ar6200 and they say it is a full range reciever.
You can shave the tab off you servo leads and they well work fine. As far as extensions, you can go with universal ones .
I`ve never flown the Pulse , but am sure your gear well work fine in it. And if you have your trainer down really good , you should be alright with the Pulse. I do have a Twist .40 and would not recomend a Twist as your first low wing.

Sounds good. I thought the wire order on the servos were the same as JR but wanted to double check. The ar6200 is full range six channel and cheaper than the ar7000. I just wanted to confirm it would be ok to use Futaba servos with it.
I though that the Pulse would be a good stepping stone from a trainer too.
Thanks.

You can also use Futaba extension and then just shave the connectors of the extensions. Many options as you see.
If the least bit worried about your new plane you can have a more experienced pilot get it in the air for you the first time.
