Default Making decals "STICK"

I have done a couple very simple covering jobs, and am wanting to do something a little more "custom". I have an 8x8 *.gif image (for the top wing) that I was going to print onto "label" paper from my home printer. My question is what are some "tricks of the trade" to make the adheisive strong enough to withstand the wind and oil residue from the engine. I'm not sure the lable adheisive alone will last very long. Any information is very much apprecaited!

Go on-line to www.beldecal.com and order some waterslide decal paper. I use it all the time for my planes. You can run it through your printer, spray it with a couple of coats of Krylon Clear-Kote to seal it and then just apply like a decal. Just be sure to spray them before cutting them out.

Al,

VERY nice work you have on your planes! Is the "Krylon Clear-Kote" something I can get at the local hobby store or would I find that at the auto shop (same place to get the pin-striping)? The web site says to "call" for pricing. I hope it doesn't cost too much. Sorry for all the goofy questions, that's why I'm still on the Beginers forum. Thanks for the info. Again...VERY NICE work you did on your planes!

Thanks Bruce. This may well be my last post but, you can buy it in a spray can at any hardware store for about 5 bucks.
