Default HELP!!!! Servo Programming? Y'S?

My first experiance with a 1/4 scale. I bought a Midwest Giles 202. I have a JR 8103 radio and using all JR equipment in this plane but Im having problems figuring out how to get the second servos to work on the elevators and alerions. One person tells me not to use Y connectors to the reciever but to put one connector in the elevator terminal and the other elevator connector in the Aux terminal and the same for the alerions and to mix them in my radio which me and know one else can figure out And the next person tells me to use Y connectors at the servos and only go to the elevator and alerion terminals and manually make adjustments at the servos. IM LOST!!! HELP!!

Default HELP!!!! Servo Programming? Y'S?

You need to email Horizon Hobby product support and ask them to email you the 8103 programming guide. The guide tells you step by step on how to set everything up with no Y's at all, each servo plugs in to it's own channel. I just went through this myself on my 29% Edge and it worked great.

Default xp8103 PROGRAMMING

One person tells me not to use Y connectors to the reciever but to put one connector in the elevator terminal and the other elevator connector in the Aux terminal and the same for the alerions and to mix them in my radio which me and know one else can figure out
h9 instructs for US120 quad flaps using JRXp8103 (9 pages) show using the GLID pre programmed for your model.
Shows rt ail to ail chan
' left ail to gear chan.
(US has flaps and they show using Aux 1 Chan for rt flap and Aux Chan 2 for left flap) This may be an option for your elevators if your have split elevator.

I'm working backwards from the dual servos with Y harness to allow incorporating FMA Co-Pilot which has only one input plug for the ails. Lose some options but hope the Co-Pilot will help keep me out of trouble.

Hope this helps

Default Programming JR 8103

Thanks Miken. Cap 232 recommended that I contact Horizon Hobby so I did. I got up with the product support team and they got me straighten out . They are a real good group of people. They faxed me step by step instructions on programming my JR 8103 to solve my problem. It was pretty slick. It took me about 10 to 15 minutes after I pulled the fax off the printer to have the radio programmed and the control surfaces moving correctly. Cant figure out why JR didn't put the dummy steps in the manual that came with the radio. But thanks for your interest in my problem. Take care and keep em flyin.
Don
