Default Brushed break in

I'm wanting to extend the life of my 180 class motor, so breaking it in seems to be my best bet. So how exactly do I go about doing this? I have searched the forums but I just want to make sure I do it right on this size motor. Thanks

If I recall, a brushed motor can be broken in by submersing it in fresh water and allowing it to run at full throttle for a specified period of time. Perhaps someone will be able to elaborate on that. My electrics are all brushless.

Just hook it up to 2 D-cells in series and run it while immersed in water until the batterys are exhausted. You will notice the water gets black as the brushes wear in. By the time the D cells are dead, the motor is broken in.
