Lipo Storage

My Feedback: (1)
I have a Herr Little Something Extra and love that thing. Great plane.. electric conversion, by the way.
It has an interesting history. Maiden: 72 MHz channel 11. I flew it on the maiden after flying my Venus II Pattern Plane on 2.4 GHz. I forgot to raise the antenna on my Airtronics 72MHz. Oops. It was up, I was trying to trim but couldn't and the further it got from me the more I lost. I managed to drop the throttle to shut down the motor, which it did, but by that time, it was over the trees and going away from me. I watched where I thought it went down and marched on over to that point. I walked about 100 yards into the woods and there it was, sitting on the ground with only a broken prop. Wphew!!!
Next, I got it fixed and brought it back out for maiden attempt #2. Launched, gained altitude and wouldn't you know it.. antenna is down... AGAIN! [:@] It nosed over, did a couple of strange loops, then headed straight down. When it hit, the wing popped off and broke in half.
I went to the LHS and he had another one is stock so I picked it up and fixed the first one with parts from the second one. Then I put in a DX7 receiver.
Maiden #3. Took off, this time with the DX7...
and, after trim, flew it perhaps 10 minutes??? or so. Nice flyer. Very responsive and that thing rolls with the best of them!!!
So, it is now an officially maidened LSE Electric Conversion that I will fly as soon as the weather breaks.

That was funny, This little plane is what prompted my post. I just ordered a 2100 11v lipo from FMA to put in this plane and I'm done. Semi cowled the AXI and it is a neat little plane. I thought is was a cheap way to enjoy a little more acrobatic plane at home instead of the Kadet-Far from cheap-costs as much as a glow plane! Maybe more, but whatever, when the weather clears it up. I have 2.4 on this one. I have to remember the anntena when switching-my first year with 2.4 so this will be fun. Great story by the way>

What about the electrifly triton jr.? Like I said, I have the e-flite 2/3S celectra charger and it works great, charges my batt's like it should, so I don't want to spend the extra $ if I don't have to. Only problem is I need a balancer, I know everyone has been talkig about the astro blinky. Well tower is out of them so I need another asap. I don't really want to invest all the money into a charger/balancer becasue simply said, I don't have the money. With all that said, from what I have read on lipo's, is that balancing your cells is one of the most important things you should do in maintaining your packs. I guess all I need is a balancer, unless someone can point me in the direction of a good quality balancer/charger combo for a good price. Also thank you all for all your input on this subject! This site rocks the party when it comes to question asking and responses from everyone! I have learned ALOT on lipo's through this post and everyone's advice!

I did the maiden this weekend-the lipo came in at about 37% charged which is lower than others i received. 40 minutes on the trusty 4s FMA charger and up she went. WOW very fast and stable. Grass take-off was about 5' and did not require any trimming that I could tell-windy out. Anyway flight was fun and no bad suprises-just good ones. Run for about 8 minutes easy and used up 50% battery power.
