Any preference of a product for getting that castor/synth oil off after a flight?
And, yes, the Army Aircore Cub flew like a homesick angel! I had no idea what to expect as I built it with no outside help or advice. It took me most of the day to break-in the new engine (OS .46 FX) and align and tweak the radio, servos and trims. But by mid-afternoon, with the help of some fine (and patient) gentlemen at the Ross County (Ohio) club, she took off like she was going home. I got in one nice, long flight before I ran out of receiver battery juice.
I got the .46 FX after reading here that a non-ball-bearing .40 might not be enough motor. With the 46 FX, it jumps into the air at half throttle, running very rich, on 10% nm, from long grass.
A public thanks to Tim, Dave and Steve who got me in the air, not to mention back home in one piece.

In a rinsed out 2 liter soda bottle, mix:
5 cups water
1 cup stove alcohol (denatured works, too)
1/2 cup ammonia (I use Parson's Sudsy)
2 tablespoons detergent (NOT soap)
I put this in a little spray bottle (from used-up CA Activator for example) and top it off after each trip to the field. Some folks here say ammonia makes Monokote brittle, but I haven't noticed it and this formula is used by lots of folks in our 90 member club.
