Maybe not the most likely to survive a crash but must win hands down as the best flyer!!! Plus you can turn it into a work horse after your flying loops in your Uproar..

Telemasters are great airplanes. They are light and strong. When you say not likely to survive a crash, I guess that depends. "Stronger" airplanes are usually pretty busted up in a crash because of all the mass.

A light airplane won't hit the ground as hard, has less mass and less inertial which equals less damage. That's why so many of the designs from the 70's and 80's have gone by the wayside. People are finally figuring out that adding 1/16" plywood doublers from the firewall to the rear of the wing saddle actually makes the plane more likely to be damaged in a crash.

Anyway, yeah... the Telemaster is a classic. Definitely one of the oldest kits still on the market and with good reason.

We used to use a Sr tele as a tow plane for gliders. Loved it!

I have always said the Telemaster series of planes made the best trainers! My only complaint of the Telemasters is that they are a little hard for a novice to build.

When asked which is the best plane to learn on I say any Telemaster and if they have not built a plane tell them to get ARF, I have built one for a fiend another for myself great planes.
