Take my advice and get in the habit of range checking your equipment. EVERY TIME. I had this radio about 1 1/2 years and no problems. I am a "notorious" battery/voltage watcher so I just get complacent and don't always range check. I crashed a plane a couple weeks ago and I took the blame. It was a different field and I was not comfortable anyway. (I didn't range check). Several days later I went flying again. I did a range check and couldn't get 50 ft. without jitters starting. My planes are all on the same channel and 2 planes did the same thing. Come to find out........ Radio South's repair dept. found a cracked solder joint at the ant/circuit board connection. Sooooo, I will be doing the range check thing!!....lownslo......
