It is a highly recommended second plane. OS makes a .61.

Should be a great second plane. I just picked mine up today, cant wait to get home from work and start putting it together. A .61-.75 2 stroke or a 90 ish sized 4 stroke will work fine.

If you look under RCKens list of beginner planes, he has a list of good 2nd planes as well. The pulse xt 40 is on the list. I would think the 60 size would make an even better 2nd plane due to size. I wish I had the extra cash to drop and get myself one, but I still have 2 other planes to build and fly first.

Should be a fine second plane choice. To do yourself a favor and also save some $$, buy a Tower Hobbies 75 2 stroke engine for that plane. Fine running engine with lots of power at a bargain price. Much stronger running than the OS 61. I have 1 OS 61 and 3 TH 75s. Nuff said.

Are they back in stock though?

They are excellent engines, especially considering the price.

Edit: Yup, still on Backorder, now until the end of May.... anyone taking bets as to when they ACTUALLY show up?

I've had one on order for over six months now!

eh, Horizon doesn't sell Tower Hobbies ( T.H. .75 ) engines nor O.S. for that matter.

Sorry, I thought we were talking about the Pulse XT 60. I should read ALL the thread.

Standard servos will work fine in the Pulse.

But why in the [link=http://hangar-9.com/ProdInfo/Files/HANPulse%20XT60LoRes_Manual.pdf]manual[/link] do they recommend [link=http://www.greathobbies.com/productinfo/?prod_id=JRPS821]DS821 Digital Sport Servo[/link] (72oz/inch @ 4.8V + 0.19seconde/60 degree)

Thanks

I built mine with JR Sport ST47 servos and flew it last night. It flew great right up till the crash.[] The Saito 100 dead sticked while my more experianced friend was flying it and he had to land it hard. I found out you really can tell where the builder goes light on glue when you crash one. Busted leading edge on wing, ripped wing mount loose, ripped rudder off, broke dowl out of wing. We fixed everything last night but for some reason the wing does not set in the saddle perfectly straight, I think the fuselage is twisted. I am on the fence whether or not to trash it and buy another or see how it flys. I hate to trash it with only one flight on it but I will always worry it is not right.
