Default ultra stick 40 performance

i just completed my ultra stick 40 and i think i made a huge mistake but its too late to worry now so i will ask this question ........i chose not to install the flaperons i just installed the regular ailerons, what will the difference in the way it flys be....this is my 3rd plane and now i wish i had used the flaperons it would have probably been a good plane to learn how to use flaps but this is my first non trainer so im still excited about the up comeing maiden!!!!! the manuel says if you use the flaps it only requires a small distance to take off how much distance is required with just the aileron to take off i have a evolution trainer out of my p 51 pts trainer in it

You won't miss the flaps. It will perform plenty well without them. Not having the flaps just means you may not get 5 foot takeoff rolls, super short landing approaches and such. Once you fly it and see what it can do you will never miss those things.

As Chuck said, you'll be fine without them. In fact, I think you will be better off. I hate flaperons and wish they had never been put on a plane in the first place. Flaperons really don't act like "real" flaps and more often than not they cause more problems than they fix. With flaperons deployed you are putting the wing into a condition where the wing can tip stall, and if this happens close to the ground I don't care how good of a pilot you are the plane is going to be toast. I won't ever put flaperons on another plane I own, even if you paid me!!!

Actually, the Ultra-Stik comes with an option for real flaps. There is a full length aileron set in the box and a set that is cut. I hear people say they really like the things the flaps enable them to do but I figure a Stik type plane is so simple, why mess with it?

That's hard to say but I bet it will be less than your PTS.

Hey Ken. How much money would it take to put them on?
(Assuming you have the 7 ch Rx)
2 more servos, a package of CA hinges, an X-acto knife and a hinge slotting tool...
