Last night was trainer night at the airfield, and for the first time in over a month it wasn't raining or too windy. I left off back in early to mid April knowing that the next time I flew, I would be getting practice for lining up with the runway and getting a feel for slow flight with the engine at idle. I got their last night, and he asked if I had even taken off yet, and I hadn't. He taxied to the start of the runway and said "Your plane". I made my first take off, (my face looked like this [sm=72_72.gif]) and flew for a while he had me do stalls, and idle speed turns with almost no aileron movement. Practicing speed control by bringing the nose up or down was actually pretty fun! I got to taxi and take off on the second flight and was doing some decent approaches when the motor died right over the middle of the runway, and we were at idle speed already. He took it and laid it down in the 2 ft grass toward the end of the field by stalling it just above the grass. I can't wait to try landing next time. Thought I would share that with you.

Brett,
Good for you! Sounds like you have a good instructor who is confident in his abilities. Listen to him and I'm sure you will progress along nicely soloing soon. [8D]
