When I got my new Kadet Senior, I did not notice (dumb newbie) that after I had hinged the ailerons onto the wing, they were badly warped. Well, I wrote to Sig about it, and they were nice enough to send me a brand new wing kit. Naturally one of the wings got crushed in transit, but that is another story.

I want to take the ailerons off the wing, since they are just hinged with CA hinges, I can cut them off, however my question is, has anyone ever done this, and dug out the old hing pieces that are glued in? Do you think I could clean the existing slots out with my GP slot cutter?

If you cut them out, I would not put hinges in the same spot. Just move over a bit and make new slots. By the way if the wing was shipped by UPS they will replace the item or items damaged. If it was the USPS then your probably out of luck. Not sure about Fed-Ex.

Well, they were shipped by Fed Ex, and in order for me to get a new set, I have to return the entire package, which means no flying for quite a while. So, I was able to repair some of the damage, and just marked it up to experience.

Best method Ive come up with is as was mentioned cut them trim them close to the TE and make a new set of slots Next to the old ones.

This is why you DON'T want to put CA hinges where the old ones were:

CA hinges MUST be attached with THIN CA.

Thin CA works on a capillary principle, That is, it need the pores in the wood to seep into (one reason it likes your skin so much). But once a hinge has been applied and removed, the pores are already sealed by the old CA, so you either need fresh wood, or (if that would place a hinge too close or too far from the end of a control surface) drill a hole where the old hinge is, and epoxy in a hinge point.
