Default Question to Germany

Hi. My question is to German people who had bring radio equipments from other countries.

My problem is i live in Turkey and the customs office do not accept radio equipments so i decided to give my uncle's adress in Ludwigshafen Mannheim and later he will bring it to me.

I would like to know that if there is such a problem in Germany too. It will be shipped from USA to Germany.

Thank you.

I hope you realize that different countries may have different frequency requirements. As an example, I believe Germany and the USA are not on the same frequency. In the USA it would be against the law to use a radio that was not on the allowed frequency.

i don't mean that. I mean when you bring any electronics to Turkey with postal service you pay really high taxes. For example for the radio set that i will buy is 190$ including shipment but in the customs office they will charge me for another 160$ as a tax for me to have it. so the price will be doubled.

The problem is i would like to know if there is such a thing in Germany too.

Thank you.

I think bringing a taxable item into a country by means that are meant to avoid customs and paying taxes is called smuggling.
However, I'm no attorney.

Hello utku2107
I gave you some advice and it appears you are not understanding it. It is to your benefit if you ask someone else to read what I wrote and discuss it with them. I speak another language and know how difficult it can be to understand some things.

You are saying the frequency allowance which is not the problem in the way i understand. But i guess you are telling me something with a little metaphor. Anyway i only want to know the tax of this kind of stuff in Germany. Thanks anyway if you are trying to tell me something.

And DOUBLEDEE,

I am giving the order to Germany and paying the %16 tax for Germany(which i heard from someone) and when my uncle brings it to Turkey he spares some of his weight limit for his luggage. When you get over the weight limit you pay again so i do NOT see any illegal thing and NO smuggling. Two stops anyway. It's just our taxes are too high due some electronic market insufficiency.
