Default Bridi Deception need help

I have a Bridi Deception and Have built it and have a OS 91fx engine in it 13x8 prop balance it where i was told 1" in front of landing gear or 6" from leading edge. When fly it it was differcult to controll on take off with dropping wings but soon as it got air speed it was fine but when i did stall test it dropped wings and wobbled around alot but soon as power and speed again it flys good again and when i landed i had too land quite fast to stop wings from dropping. It weight is 10 pound and it took about 16ozs of lead to balance it i have no plan as i got it as a unfinished project can someone help me with whats wrong with it as everything i read about it say's it is a great flyer and does anyone have a plan for it i can get a copy of.

Default RE: Bridi Deception need help

You would be better served having this moved to the "Classic Pattern" forum. The Bridi Deception is a full blown pattern plane, not a trainer, and this is the beginners forum. The guys in the Classic Pattern forum will be able to get you the answers you need.

As far as the specific balance point goes, I can't help you there. But if you're trying to fly this plane coming off a trainer, then you should put it up and get a good low wing trainer. The Deception is from an era commonly referred to as the ballistic era of pattern - when pattern planes flew 100+ mph. A plane like this should be at least your 4th plane since it will bite you faster than you can think if you get careless or laxed, especially if you get too slow on landing approach or try to force it off the ground on take-off.
