Default Robart Control Horns and Linkages

Hi,

I am trying out these Robart horns on my elevator. I am using 4-40 push rods the the clevis seems loose. I have more that one package of these and they are all loose. Should I solder clevis to the push rod?

you put a nut on the push rod and tighten it down when you get the adjustment right. If you solder the clevis to the pushrod here, you will only have length adjustment at the servo end. Imagine trying to take your servo linkage apart everyting my need to give it a turn more or less length. Solder the clevis to the rod at the servo and keep it adjustable at the corntol horn. Any of the threaded clevises are loose on the threaded rod and require a nut to lock them down.

I am converting over to these horns and linkages on my planes now. I use a Dubro Ball Link at the servo end and the Robart ball link at the horn end. The only slop in the setup is gear lash in the servo. Couldn't be happier.

Solder the clevis on the servo end and keep a locknut against the clevis on the other end to lock it down.
