Need input on mounting Saito .40a in SIG Lt-25
Hello everyone,
I am attempting to mount a Saito .40a in what appears to be a SIG LT-25 which was given to me already built. The original engine was a Thunder Tiger .36 pro. I have had problems with this engine which ultimately caused it to fall from the sky. Fortunately the damage was minimal and has been repaired. In doing this I did strip the entire plane to really make it my own. SO now I am trying to figure out how to mount the .40a into the plane. Vertical, inverted, or horizontal? It "looks" odd sitting in the old thunder tiger position. Any suggestions on how to appropriately mount this?
Thanks for looking!!

Personally, I think it looks good like that. I have a small .25 sized bipe with a saito .45 on it, mounted sideways... I think thats pretty funny looking (but someone gave it to me like that, and it flies great)

From your pix of motor mount area it appears that vertical is the best way to go. However, it also appears like the motor will be somewhat high in respect to the tank. Perhaps you can relocate the motor mounts on firewall to lower it.

BadSplice and TedMo, thanks for the replies. I started to look at it again today and I believe I will drop it down about 1/2". I think this will look great. I am using my Hobbico MKII as a comparison next to it. It looks more natural that way I think. I will post pics once the modification is done.
