Default Towerhobbies .75

Why does the Towerhobbies .75 engine backorder date keep getting pushed back. I backordered it like over a month ago and now it says late Dec. Before i had mid Oct.

Will it ever come in?

Its never going to come in, They stoped making them. They just want to sit on your money............Kidding............When It gets on the nose of your model you will see its well worth the wait. Its a great engine.

Yeah, they've got a problem. I ordered a muffler back in late April/early May. Maybe I'll get to use it next summer...

Where did you get that information?
I called them the other day and it was in stock and the web site shows it in stock.

That's what is listed on their website. Very few of the Tower-brand engines or parts have been in stock since this spring.

Hummmm
Well the lady I had on the phone asked me if I wanted it and I said no because I may get the BIG TRAINER that has the OS 65LA engine on it
That engine alone cost $200.00+

That's nice, but it doesn't change the fact that they aren't in stock and haven't been for a long time.

Your link doesn't work.

That's the price in Australian dollars. It should be about half of that here. It's not really the same sort of engine as the Tower .75, though. Bushing vs. ball-bearing.

OK,
I just noticed it was an Aussie site.
Wellwhat is better?
Ball bearing or bushings?
I think their all good because they s[pin so darn fast and just keep on going
Check out HCAA18 on the TH site.
I guess it's ok because of that engine but it's blue and not like the picture you showed.
The servos are also ball bearing

I looked at that and i'm going to call tomorrow because they show a blue engine in the catalog on the RTF
If you look on page 35 the wing tips look better then those trainers that have that under upward cut.
But looking at the Avistar and the Super-Star MK lll
Do you know if they have those same ugly wing tips?
I have a wing here I rebuilt and I just may cut and feather out the wing tips.

The blue engines are discontinued They are all silver now

The Avistar and the Superstar MK II both have turned up wing tips

The Superstar EP electric has Big Stick Style wing tips

LOL,
Them tricky TH buggers,
The MAG shows the blue engine and the more rounded wing tips
OK wait,
I talking about the big 71" wing span MK lll and not the MK ll
I see in the picture on page 35 you can see the up cut wing tips on the MKll and on the upperpart of the page it shows the MK lll with what looks to be the more realistic wing tips.

The Hobbistar is the 60 size plane with the rounded plastic wing tips and the semi symmetrical wing

The old Tower trainer 60 had the turned up tip but I don't see it anymore

WOW!!!
Your right.
I have the size 60 that I got several years ago so maybe I should go for that big 71" wing bird before they do away with that.

I just noticed that the SUPERSTAR select MK ll has the nice looking wing tips but a flat bottom wing
I flew the Avastar today and it was OK when I started but the winds kicked up so after 6 tries I cut back the throttle and set down slow in some high weeds.
No damage done.
I'm converting one of the big trainers to a tail dragger.
Just after 3 AM here so have a nice day.

Yup I can also verify that...

I have 2 engines on backorder since then!!!!

The plants that manufacture the Tower Hobbies, GMS & SuperTigre engines have been consolidate into ONE "new" plant in China.

They still don't seem to have production going YET even after all of this time...

There were claims that some of the delays were due to the Olympics, but by now... sheez... where is this stuff... then again... there's the Nitro for Glow Fuel problem too...

The ChiComms can't multitask, they'll get their cheap junk to us as soon as they get everything back up and running.
