I myself have not had good luck with O.S. plugs. I know, I am told they are the best of the best. They have not worked well for me. If I have a rich low end or mid range I go with an Enya #3. They are the best plugs I have had. I have also had good luck with Fox Miracle plugs. The cheaper Hobby People Thunder bolt plugs work pretty well too.

I like the OS A3 plug, i use it in all my engines including a TT GP.07, TT PRO.36, 2-TT PRO .46's, OS .40LA, Magnum .15XL and a .15XLS, Magnum .52XLS, the only two different plugs i use is an OS 8 in my OS .25FX( that's what it came with ) and i believe i have an Enya glow plug in a old Enya .45 that was given to me.

The OS A3 and Enya 3 are considered hot plugs. They do run well

The Miracle is a four stroke plug

Do bigger engines prefer hotter or colder plugs?

It depends on the particular engine.

I cannot give you a specific answer on that one

I guess I was referring to the difference between an OS 46AX and an OS 120AX. I believe they come with different plugs - I can't remember, but the 120 came with either a hotter or colder plug than the #8.

My hypothesis is that the larger engine uses a hotter plug due to the greater volume of (cooling) fuel in the combustion chamber.

The guy I fly with all the time has a 120AX that he flies mostly. He has run all kinds of plugs in it but generally uses the OS 8.

He has used the OS "F" and the A3 at one time but didn't see much difference. However the engine did act a little cold natured in my opinion.

The engine is inverted in a GP You Can Do 3D 60
