The Super Cub is a very popular airplane for good reason. I've never heard anyone who owns it have any complaints. There's a review here on RCU: http://www.rcuniverse.com/magazine/a...rticle_id=1003

Excellent 1st plane if you're going ot be self taught, the other that's as good and ticks all the boxes as well is the Multiplex EasyStar

If you've no experience if you can join a club and get instructor to help in which case there may be other plane choices and it'll save you a number of crashes / expense but whichever way you go get yourself a Simulator even if it's teh FMS one and put in a good week on that 1st as it'll massively help with orientation.

I would definitely second getting an instructor or at least someone who currently flies and add to that check into AMA. The insurance is worth the cost of admission. I agree that you should wait on the second radio until you decide how much you like the hobby.

Have fun

my friend got one and crashed the first flight , repaired it and asked me to help him.

I got it trimed out and showed him how to fly it and he has liked it every sence. He went on and learned to fly regular RC planes with me this last summer, but the cub helped.

ya, its a great little park flyer. you can get replacement parts and even glue it back together. My friend broke his in half on the first flight and just glued it back together.

Would still get a Simulator and to keep the cost down would have a look at this http://www.sussex-model-centre.co.uk...d.asp?id=19644 but make sure it's the E-Sky one they send not the other as the TX isn't as nice and doesn't feel as realistic.
Noticed you're in the UK, if you're going to be self taught and want to speak to someone before you fly on your own as I can warn you of a number of pitfalls to avoid please feel free to PM me a number and I'll give you a call !!!

Did you read the above reply with the link for the Sim

BMFA for insurance, think it's called a country member, if you can get soem help with your 1st flight though and would still look to join a club if you can.

As you get more experienced you can go into sites and download other more aerobatic planes and I'm convinced that help me get used to much more sensitive sticks before buying my 1st 3D\plane.
I've oractised and learnt all 3D on that Sim before going out and trying it with a plane and still use it regularily for practising new aero's as well as just keeping up to speed when the weather's bad so bang for the buck I think it's a good deal !!!
I'd be interested to try one of the more expensive ones to see if I really think it's worth the difference.
Good luck with it !!!!
