Default Hobbyzone MINI super cub

I see alot of talk about the MINI super cub but not alot of info, does anyone actually own this thing?

How does it compare to its big brother?

Can it take off from short grass or too small?

Can it hold a flycam?

Think I can get one of these brand new shipped to my door for 100 bux, from an actually RC store...so...it does seem tempting. Watched a few vids on youtube, seems that little plane has some pep to it, it was doing loops post haste.

Anyone modified this little plane yet?

thanks

The original SC won't take off from grass, so I doubt the Mini will.

Yea forget about grass take off's and doubt it will hold a camera if it flys like its big brother its a good plane! Today while I was at my club we had a new member show up today with a super cub in hand! He had NEVER flown before and only had sim time he was stoked to get flying! He placed it on the runway and off he went he was so new to flight he too off into the wind.

So I landed and immediately being a good guy walked over and gave him a couple pointers and tips.. He was doing great little trouble when flying toward him.. Time for the landing first mistake was trying to land down wind! I told him No! SO he pulled up and went around and made his approach and cut the throttle 10 feet off the ground nice easy glide into the wind and last minute he gave it a little flare and had a nice 3 point landing!

It's a great little plane.
I've had mine 2 weeks and enoy it alot.
One drawback is a return spring on the throttle which limits the throttle travel to half the range.

One thing that seems to help the limited throttle travel is increasing the throttle trim. At one beep back from full on trim at least mine gets throttle response the full (half) range of the stick.
Now if we could only find a way to disable the spring or use another tx to fly this excellent little plane without completely replacing the electronics, that woulud be super!!

I have them both, the reg super cub flys better than the mini cub. I can take mine of from the grass but I change the wheels to a larger size. That makes it roll through the grass a little better. I would go with the regular cub. Mine has been fun. My 2 cents worth.
