Is there a kit you can install in the plane to be controled by a channel and smoke at any given intervals?

Default Yes there are

There are many of them. Some complex and sophisticated that plug directly into the Rx. TME is one and Dubro makes a simple system that is just a valve operated by a servo and requires tapping the crankcase on a two stroke. All systems require a separate oil tank as well as expensive 'snake oil' and tapping into the muffler.

Now the down side, gas engines are great smokers and glow engines are not. This is because of the much hotter exhaust temperatures of gas engines. Anything less than about .60 in glow is not going to be much of a smoker. Even then a Special muffler with a oil preheater is going to be required or a simple coil around the muffler or cylinder head should be used. Even for gas engines a preheater is a good plan.

Could always just light the tail!

Just kidding. What engine are you trying to get smoke out of? I use a B&B valve in my gassers. I quit wasting my time with nitro engines and smoke. As stated, they don't do a good job with smoke at all.

Your not going to get gas that small. You need to be big to go gas. Small weed eater motors like. The 50 won't produce good smoke. I used to do it with smoke bombs they made, but they don't make them any more. Bummer. They were fun. You can tie a streamer on, just not the same though. Sorry.

Wannafly Like Flyboy said the OS 50 glow engine is simply not going going to produce a very impressive amount of smoke. The name of the game with smoke is exhaust gas temperature and that engine is a bit too cool in that regard.

Hi Flyboy,

Are these the "smoke bombs" you were talking about?

I've never tried them, and was curious how they worked? Does the AMA have a problem with these since it looks like pyro devices?
