I really want to get a super sportster but Im not sure if the electric sportster is as good as the gas version. I have never owned a gas plane so if I get the nitro one I will have to get all the supporting hardware. So is it worth getting the electric one or should I not waste my time and go with the nitro? Any input with ether of these would be awesome..Thanks

I've never owned the electric versions. I'm sure they are good airplanes although I'd probably upgrade to an outrunner and lipo batteries.
What sorts of electric have you flown in the past? That might determine whether or not you want to get a glow Sportster.
I've had both the .40 size ARf and the .60 size kit. Both are outstanding airplanes.

I've flown mostly foam park flyers, Flyzone cessna, and my dads nitro pt 40. Now Im in the middle of building a Gary Wright E3D plane. Now I have the urge for a super sportster. I think because My father had one..

Rust ... you cannot compare the EP and the GP SS ... the GP is much larger and flies really solid. Why not get the GP one and convert it? I am in the midst of converting mine. You can fly it on 4S for something enjoyable or perhaps 5S for absurd power. I am leaning towards a simple AXI 2826/12 motor with a 4S set up, its so smooth that there is no point pushing her to the limits on speed.
Anyways, she also flies really well on a 46 2C ...

I've been around several Super Sportsters and I am very aware of how they fly.
A friend was given the Great Planes EP Sportster for his birthday 2 yrs ago

Needless to say it was an experienced person's poor excuse for a plane as it came from Great Planes.
He changed it to a more powerful motor system and it is as nice as any Super Sportster I've ever seen. He has a couple glow Sportsters also and has been very pleased with his electric Super Sportster. In fact this past summer it was his plane of choice.

You have to go for nitro, i tried to install the EP motor and it was absurd. The integrated cowling is too narrow, there is no space to work with. I will need to buy a nitro engine now, not done that for the longest of time! Question is 2C or 4C ... 2C is cheap and the exhaust can be easily diverted away, 4C sounds nice though but will surely get exhaust all over the plane.
