Hard to tell from that distance. Appears to be a 3-channel plane. Looks like he just started to cover it and didn't finish. No signs of any wing repairs but again it is hard to see.

Not a kadet that's for sure, look at the Fusalage and tail. The Fusalage on a Kadet is only sheeted to the rear of the wing and the tail is not at all similar. Kadet wing leading edges are not sheeted on most of them. It would make a good trainer w/o floats and with ailerons.
What are the engines?

You did fine. Have someone help you out to put on langing gear, ailerons and cover it. I remember the plane from somewhere just not the name!!!! Getting old and forgetful. Another really good starter plane that the 25 should work well on is a Kadet LT 25....
Good luck

The tail surfaces seem to indicate one of the Goldberg Falcon family Falcon Jr., Falcon 3 or Falcon 56. The twenty five class engine would be the one to use for that airplane, not a forty that is if you wanted to use it to learn to fly with. The floats are indeed Gee Bee's.

The larger engine is likely an OS .40FP and that carb is a dead ringer for an FP bleeder carb however the red color makes no sense at all.

The plane looks something like a Gee Bee Sea Hawk to me.

For $50 you'll be OK. The engines and accessories are worth at least that as long as you can use them.

We have had about three of these at our club over the years. My brother had one of them and it was a nice flying plane. Very nice off the water also. The web page that I posted does not have any more. (Temporarily Unavailable)
My brother doesn’t have his any more so I can’t help you out there. I think there is still one more in the club. Let me know how you make out on here and go from there.

My friend might still have planes???

Kenncarleton

Did you ever get a tx. Did you look at the airtronics rds8000 2.4 from hobby people. I think they still have it at 149.00 with rx
