Isn't it true that having two planes on with the same frequency cause interference between the two planes? Isn't that what causes alot of crashes and the reason for the frequency sticks at clubs?

That is what I was telling him, not to have two planes on at the same time under the same frequency.

Close. Having two TRANSMITTERS on the same frequency is bad. Receivers are just that, receivers. They do NOT send out interference. I have actually seen 2 planes in the air at the same time and on the same frequency work but it shouldn't have. One TX was a FM-PPM TX and the other was an FM-PCM TX. They were on the same freq and they did work. The pilots were standing about 50 ft apart but the planes did get near each other with no glitching seen at any time. Once the error was discovered the FM-PPM pilot landed ASAP and shut off. I know this story is true because I was the FM-PPM pilot. Mine was Futaba and the other was JR so perhaps the opposing shift also helped. We tried later on the bench and still all was OK. We didn't press the issue in the air again though.

BTW shd - on some larger planes they actually install dual RX's in the same plane for redundancy. No problems. Theory - if one RX goes dead they hope to have enough flight control surfaces still functioning to save the plane.

I was the "legal" pilot. I had the pin. It's kind of like being "in the right" during a car wreck, you're still dead.
